Anyone know what this is called or have some similar pattern? I think I remember this being called "Mile a Minute" in the 90's.Picture on left shows the round ends (there's 15 trb crochet on the ends), but the middle where it I guess is sown together looks knit ??? The middle looks like it's two sets of 3 dc like mini Grace Aboundshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677095880152362977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5933543748611624781.post-9722476833482299862010-01-03T19:05:00.000-06:002010-01-03T19:07:20.322-06:00More Melody PicsGrace Aboundshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677095880152362977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5933543748611624781.post-20037252622992747492010-01-03T17:21:00.004-06:002010-01-03T17:30:43.182-06:00Melody Pictures Dorset Merino Mix DURING and AFTER Wash. Here's a closeup shot of the spider I crocheted and the edging: Zach is turning 4 and I hope he enjoys it. Let me say, if I ever make this afghan again, I will have some trouble with that little spider. We recently moved to Missouri from Ohio in April and I've been very (very!) sick with the hypoadrenia, hypoglycemia, thyroid, and of course, the benzodiazepine issues for the past few months, unable to do anything but wait for my body to start working right. Makes for a lot of time crocheting though and also good time in the Grace Aboundshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677095880152362977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5933543748611624781.post-18027412416046500832009-02-24T08:37:00.004-06:002009-09-21T15:48:20.049-05:00Josais' AfghanJosias' AfghanFINALLY! I'm done with baby Josias' afghan. Like John Piper says, I will never, never, never, never, never, never, never do one of these again! Alright, his "nevers" were much more interesting, but that's all I have! When I say "never," that can actually be translated into: "I can be bribed to do one of these again for $100.00," Haha!I would do it again, but not without complaining.Grace Aboundshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677095880152362977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5933543748611624781.post-45787621763269111712009-02-09T12:04:00.002-06:002009-09-21T15:33:15.009-05:00Brown Felted 1920's ClocheBrown Felted 1920's ClochePanda's Wooldbale 100% Pure New Wool in Cocoa (4 oz.)Pattern was almost 2x the size of the finished felt projectMeasurements: Fits 20" to 22" head, Crown to Brim: 8.25"Here is the cloche in progress. Nope, it's the Big Bag I'm crocheting. It's originally called, "Stylin' Tote Bag" designed by Cathy Phillips. I ran out of the purple yarn, so it's sitting waiting for me to buy another skein of it. I found this pattern on Ravelry and fell in love with the look of it. Well, here it is in progress: I'm using Caron's Simply Soft in purple and white. I made them both crocheting single stitches back loop only so that when they get wet, they will stretch. The smaller one measures 5" x 5" and the larger one is 7" by 7". I've since handwashed (yes, pretty old fashioned, 'eh?) a load of dishes and the 7" x 7" stretched to 7" x 10" which my husband loves! So, I'm off to buyGrace Aboundshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677095880152362977noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5933543748611624781.post-20271512260466398822009-01-31T06:46:00.002-06:002009-09-21T15:39:40.132-05:00Ski Mask for RickI never thought I could make a ski mask. I mean, how do you MAKE a hole in your garment? :)So I picked up a pattern and just followed the directions. In about 2 1/2 hours, I had a full ski mask made for my son. He came home, tried it on and it was a perfect fit! He wants it made where there is a piece going down from the brow to the nose so it is a tighter fit. I'll get to that... one day. I mean, it is already 2009, but here's the rest of the scarves I made for Christmas presents.Becky (Pastor's wife) likes blue, so I chose Caron's Simply Soft Country Blue and did a seed stitch back and forth. That's how it goes though. But, I'm now moving onto a handbag, making squares for a charity thing, and an afghan. (The afghan is for ME! I've never kept any of my work and I'm so excited to have one of my own afghans!)These are some children's hats I did for my grandson. He didn't like them though! I gave myself three weeks to complete NINE scarves (and a few hats). Never, never, never do this. It's insane!
